The importance of using an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is the single most important standard for calibration and testing laboratories around the world. ISO 17025 accredited laboratories have demonstrated that they are technically proficient and able to produce precise and accurate test and calibration data. This is a third party-reviewed process that ensures a laboratory’s quality management system is thoroughly evaluated on a regular basis to guarantee continued technical competence and compliance with ISO 17025.
Laboratory accreditation bodies use the ISO 17025 standard specifically to assess factors relevant to a laboratory’s ability to produce precise, accurate test and calibration data; including:
- Traceability of measurements and calibrations to national standards
- Technical competence of staff
- Maintenance of test equipment
- Quality assurance of test and calibration data
- Validity and appropriateness of test methods
- Appropriate handling and transportation of test items
- Quality of calibration environment
To ensure continued compliance, accredited laboratories are regularly re-assessed to check that they are maintaining their standard of technical expertise. These laboratories are also required to participate in regular proficiency testing programs as an ongoing demonstration of their competence.

Why do calibrate your instrument?
Despite their high level of performance, the accuracy of measuring devices can drift over time, due to various factors (operating conditions, storage conditions). That’s why it’s important to calibrate your devices. Regular calibrations help to keep the equipment, functioning and safe. Without calibration, all maintenance actions can become less accurate, effective and precise over time. It can also help to prevent breakdowns, increase the safety and reliability of production test machines and maintains their optimal performance levels over time.
The ATEQ calibration service
ATEQ guarantees a three-day service* only on calibration (transport not included). We recommend that, to maintain your ATEQ product reliability and precision, our equipment is calibrated annually to keep your product efficient and in optimum condition. The calibration can be made in any of our services centres depending on the region you are based in, our dedicated calibration laboratories can perform them. A dedicated laboratory with accreditations
As of July 1st 2003, ATEQ S.A.S (France laboratory) offers its customers the option to include an ISO/IEC17025 accredited calibration of their pressure instruments.
Accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) Pressure and Gas flow
LOW PRESSURE from 0 to 1330 Pa relative
HIGH PRESSURE from – 0.95 to 25 bar relative
ABSOLUTE PRESSURE from 0.020 to 25 bar
GAS FLOW from 0.4 to 5 000 ml/min / 5 000 to 80 000 ml/min (300 to 4 800 l/h)

ATEQ has invested in a brand new air regulated room with a constant temperature of 20°C all year long.
This state of the art facility allows us to control pressures ranging from absolute vacuum up to 25 bar with gauges reaching the precision of a Pascal.
The first customer of this new lab is obviously ATEQ’s own production line of leak, flow tester and manometer.
But existing customers can also benefit from our experience in calibration and get their current pressure / flow equipment a traceable calibration.

*Ateq Aviation division does calibrate multibranded test instruments. The 3 days calibration time only applied on the calibration procedure itself exluding transport and adminstration procedures related to transport. The 3 day calibration time only applies for ATEQ branded products and is considered as a standard time. The calibration time will have to be confirmed upon request.
